Trudo Pass | Abbey mill

The old Abbey mill used to belong to the Abbey church and was of great importance to the monks in the economic independence of the abbey.

On August 5, 1992, the old abbey mill was destroyed by a disastrous explosion in the bed of the Cicindria creek.
In 2018, the non-profit organization Abdij, Stad & Regio (ASR), in cooperation with the city of Sint-Truiden and Molenzorg Zuid-Limburg, started redeveloping the old mill site to make it accessible again.

ASR has set up, in the adjacent old farm buildings, a fascinating exhibition on the history of these and other water mills in and around Sint-Truiden.

This exhibition can be visited every Sunday from April to September. With your Trudo Pass, you can visit here from 2pm to 5pm.
Biweekly (from April 7) on Sundays there is also more explanation about the abbey mill by ASR asbl and the site to the mill is accessible:
April 7 – April 21 – May 5 – May 19 – June 2 – June 16 – June 30 – July 14 – July 28 – August 11 – August 25 – September 8 – September 22
