Our Lady’s Church and treasury
Visit the Our Lady’s Church, it is a Gothic church with a wealth of colorful murals. In the treasure room, which you can reach through the church, ecclesiastical crockery, reliquary shrines, chasubles, reliquaries, textilia and curiosities from the Middle Ages and later times are exhibited.

Old Town Hall Belfrey
The guide takes you on an exclusive tour of the beautifully renovated old town hall. The belfry tower houses a restored carillon with 50 bells and is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Air force base historical centre
After the war, on May 23rd 1947, the Advanced Flying School was inaugurated in Brustem for the training of Belgian Air Force pilots. The base experienced its glory days from 1965 onwards with the presence of the “Red Devils” stunt team flying the Fouga Magister. Unfortunately, after 50 years of Belgian Air Force presence in Sint-Truiden, it came to an end in 1996. The museum keeps this history alive.

Beguinage site
The beguinage was established in 1258 just outside the city walls near the Cicindria brook. During its heyday, around 200 beguines lived here. For 25 years now, the beguinage has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the late Romanesque and early Gothic church, you will find 38 impressive murals dating from the early 14th to the late 16th century.

Castle of Duras
Originally, there stood an old moated castle belonging to the Counts of Duras, already mentioned in 1102. The current castle was built between 1787 and 1789 by Baron Jean Joseph Van der Noot. It is a typical example of neoclassical architecture!
During the guided tour, you will discover its history, learn more about its residents, and visit its unique rooms.
