Trudo Pass | Emperor’s Hall

Abbot Quarters

The Emperor’s Hall was the abbot’s reception room for his most important guests. The ceiling painting was made by A. Caldelli (1770) and refers to the abbot Jozef van Herck: the painting shows Joseph, king of Egypt, who welcomes his father and brothers, the wall paintings of an unknown artist use the ‘trompe l’oeil’ technique. On the first floor is the location for the communal archives.
